We just received our server the other day from where we had it hosted. Everything went smoothly; without your company, we would have had to send an empty box across the border and try to explain what we were doing. You made this process much easier. – Mike Pulice, PAMI
Why Choose Our Server Shipping Boxes?
Our server shipping boxes are not the cheapest. They are the most reliable and easiest to use. Our server shipping boxes are specifically designed to ship rack mount servers, eliminating the need for bubble wrap or finding an appropriately sized box. Our boxes are made of extra-strength cardboard and contain firm antistatic foam inserts that surround the server with protection on all sides. The server shipping boxes are nondescript with no external branding, keeping your servers safe not only from damage but also from theft. We take our customers’ privacy seriously – read our Privacy Policy.
About Our Server Shipping Boxes
Our server shipping boxes are designed and assembled in New Jersey. We order custom-made boxes built with extra heavy-duty cardboard. Custom inserts are created by carving an indentation into sturdy antistatic polyethylene foam, so your server sits firmly and securely. Your server shipping box will arrive with no external branding, ready for you to insert your server, tape it up, and send it off – around the corner, or around the globe.
• Double-walled cardboard: Stronger than our competitors. In 10+ years of business we have never had a complaint.
• Pink anti-static foam: Off-the-shelf black foam carries a risk of static shock that can ruin your equipment.
• Top-and-bottom design: If you have to lift large, heavy equipment over the flaps of a cheaply made box, you risk hurting yourself or dropping and damaging your equipment.
Can I pick up my boxes?
No, we do not offer pickup options. However, if you are close enough that you’d consider picking up (NJ, the NYC area, CT, MA, RI, DE, MD, or Eastern PA), it is likely your boxes will only take one business day in transit. So, if you order by noon EST, your boxes will probably arrive the next day with our free shipping.
How long does Free Shipping take?
Most orders received by 12PM EST are dispatched the same day. In the rare event that your order will take more than two days to ship, we will let you know by email. Our free shipping is UPS ground. Please check the diagram at right for transit time estimates.
Do you ship outside the US?
We do ship internationally, but for orders outside the contiguous USA and Canada, shipping is paid by the recipient. Please note that you may also be responsible for import duties and taxes. Unfortunately, each order and each destination is different so we cannot provide an estimate. It is important you monitor your UPS tracking number so you know how to pay any balance due prior to your order being received. Please note any orders that are returned to us as a result of failure to pay duties/fees/taxes are not eligible for a refund.
Ordering a Server Shipping Box
The fastest and easiest way to purchase is through this website. In most cases, orders placed by 12pm EST will ship the same day. Orders placed after 12pm EST may ship the next day.
Please note that while we can change the address of your order after it has been picked up by UPS, it will delay your shipment – even if you purchased expedited shipping. We do our best to ensure your order is delivered in a timely manner, but unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for shipments that are delayed due to customer error. View our return policy.
Can I get my box delivered on a certain day, or at a certain time of day?
If you are placing an order after 12PM and need a rush order delivered the next day via UPS Next Day Air, please contact us for availability prior to placing your order. If you need your order within two business days but are ordering after noon EST, you will need to select Next Day shipping.
If you need your order delivered on a specific day with less than one week’s notice, you may need to purchase expedited shipping. Please view the map on this page to determine whether Ground shipping will ensure timely delivery and if it will not, select an expedited option at checkout and leave us a note of your required delivery date.
If you are using our free Ground shipping and need your order delivered on a certain day, please be sure to place your order at least six business days in advance. Just make a note of your required delivery date during checkout, and we will dispatch your order on the appropriate day. Please note that even though we dispatch your order on the correct day, packages are occasionally delayed by UPS for reasons beyond our control. We cannot accept returns or offer refunds if this occurs.
We ship via UPS, so your order will be delivered with your regular driver – there is no way for us to know what time of day this will occur. If you need your order delivered in the morning, you must purchase Next Day Air Early shipping.
Looking for a Quote/Ordering with a Purchase Order
We are happy to accept purchase orders. If you require fewer than ten boxes, please use our automated quote system – do not email us for a quote. To generate a quote, add the items to your Cart and proceed to the checkout page. Enter your shipping information, select a shipping method, choose Generate Quote/Pay via Cheque, and then Submit. You will receive an email that will serve as your quote. This is not a binding agreement, and we will not ship your order until you send us a Purchase Order. You may use this information to submit your purchase order, or to send us a cheque directly. All quotes are valid for 30 days. We offer bulk discounts on orders of over 30 units; if you need to make a purchase of this size or larger please email us for assistance.
Opening a Vendor Account
We work with many resellers, and are happy to blind ship directly to your clients. Based on volume, we are often able to offer vendor pricing. Email us to get started.
Checking the Status of Your Server Shipping Box Order
Shipping data is uploaded as soon as your order is fulfilled, and can be found by logging into your account. Should you decline to create an account, you should still receive a confirmation email with your tracking information.
Do you make custom server shipping boxes, especially for larger equipment?
Yes! We can make boxes of nearly any size – just email us for a quote. For larger units, we add extra reinforcement (often plywood) to keep your equipment safe. Because these are custom orders, please allow one to two weeks for manufacture.
We are also able to make smaller boxes to exactly fit your equipment, which can result in substantial cost savings during your shipping process. If you need to ship more than 30 pieces of equipment of the same size, please ask us for a custom quote.
Is there room for rails and cables in the box?
It depends on the size of your server. All of our boxes (except the Networking Box) are designed for equipment up to 30″ deep; if your equipment is shorter than that, there will be some space in the box for cables and possibly your rail kit. Some customers also tape their cables and rail kit to the top of the server, but whether this will work for you depends on how large your rails are. We make our boxes as slim as we can – without compromising protection – because it makes shipping them less expensive for our customers. Since rails are less fragile than the equipment they hold, we typically recommend using a regular box and bubble wrap to secure them separately.
Do you offer insurance?
If the empty boxes are damaged when they arrive at your facility, we will promptly send a replacement at no cost to you – just send us a photo of the damage. Although our boxes undergo rigorous testing and offer substantial protection even for long periods in transit, we unfortunately cannot be liable for any damage to your equipment because there is no way to know how any given shipper handles their cargo. Therefore, we strongly recommend you purchase shipping insurance for your equipment directly through the carrier who will be transporting it to its final destination.
What if my box is damaged when it arrives?
Please keep the box and send us photos of the damage at your earliest convenience, including a photo that shows the shipping label. We will dispatch a replacement immediately at no cost to you. We ask that you please keep the damaged item for a few days while we file a claim with our shipper.
Please note: a certain amount of wear and tear is to be expected during shipping. We do not pack our boxes inside boxes as this would add unnecessary cost and labor. Our boxes are crush proof to 300lbs, and the main source of protection is the foam insert inside of the box. Cosmetic damage such as scuffs, tears, or dings on the corners of the boxes will not affect their function and as such, we cannot issue replacements for minor damage. Many of our customers re-use the boxes several times without issue. Plastic wrap is available upon request for an additional fee; please email us to learn about this option.
Will your boxes fit tower-style servers?
In many cases, yes. Typically, tower-style servers are 4U or 5U wide. You may need to remove the “feet” of the server for it to fit snugly into the packaging. If you are uncertain, ask us and we will help you find the best option.
Do you sell boxes for blade servers?
No – our boxes are for rack mounted servers, and certain tower styles (feet may need to be removed for a snug fit). Our boxes may fit the enclosure for your blades, but we do not offer packaging materials for the blades individually.
